Six Ingredient Edamame Beef

• ½ kilo ground meat*
• 1 medium onion, diced
• 2 garlic cloves, minced
• ¼ cup soy sauce or coconut amino
• ¼ cup pure maple syrup
• ½ cup edamame
• red chili flakes to top (optional)

1. Heat a skillet with a bit of oil. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic, and cook until onions have begun to brown.
2. Add the ground meat, breaking apart and incorporating the onions and garlic.
3. Once your meat has brown, about 5-8 minutes, add the soy sauce, maple syrup and edamame, mixing to incorporate.
4. Once everything has been combined, allow the meat to simmer on a medium-low flame for 5-7 minutes more to allow for flavor development.
5. turn off flame and mix once more to combine.
6. serve the meat a top your favorite rice paired with some roasted broccoli for a yummy and balanced Asian meal.

Notes:
*You can absolutely use ground turkey or chicken here for a lower fat alternative, but you will just have to adjust the cooking time a bit to ensure it doesn’t dry out.
