About Me

Hi! I’m Liat Buckman, RD, a Real Food Women’s Health Dietitian. After years of restrictive eating, painful periods, low energy, and fertility struggles, I realized conventional medicine wasn’t giving me real solutions. I took matters into my own hands—diving deep into real food nutrition, functional medicine, and blood sugar regulation to heal my body.

Now, as a conventionally trained dietitian in Israel with holistic certifications as an NTP and RWP, I help women uncover the root causes of their hormonal and metabolic struggles using real food and sustainable lifestyle shifts. I also guide women in navigating real food eating in Israel, which is where this entire journey—and my blog—began. Read more >

🌿 “A Nutritionist Who Truly Cares”
“I am writing to recommend Liat as a nutritionist. My children encouraged me to take advice from Liat after many years of suffering with stomach issues.Liat was professional, patient and caring in all our meetings. She was super supportive and we successfully navigated our way to healing my issues. Liat also helped my husband and calmed his digestive issues. Liat was accessible when I needed extra guidance and fairly priced. We wish her much success in all her ventures going forward.”

💪 “No More Feeling Stuck”
“For years, I felt stuck—like I was doing everything ‘right’ but still struggling with fatigue, hormonal issues, and stubborn weight. Liat showed me that healing isn’t just about eating healthy but about eating in a way that actually supports my metabolism and hormones. Now I feel strong, energized, and finally in control of my health. And the extra weightloss isn’t that bad either 🙂”

✨ “More Energy Than Ever”
“Before working with Liat, I was exhausted all the time. No matter how much I slept, I felt drained, moody, and out of balance. She really used such a personalized approach and listened to all my needs and preferences. She never just settled to giving me a solution that worked for everyone else. I really learned how to nourish my body properly, balance my blood sugar, and support my hormones naturally. I’ve never had this much energy in my life!”

I stopped chasing skinny after I had my second dau I stopped chasing skinny after I had my second daughter 7 years ago, and ✨started chasing strength✨
💪🏻So I could chase after my kids.
💪🏻So I could lug 5 full bags of produce up the stairs while holding my toddler in the other hand.
💪🏻So I could support two more pregnancies with little ones on my hip.
💪🏻So I could protect my joints and posture through years of breastfeeding, pumping, and sleepless nights shushing babies.
But now that my baby isn’t a baby anymore, and my big kids are getting big, I’m realizing something else:
Beyond helping me survive the little-kid years, strength has given me so much more.
It gave me the chance to raise my daughters without ever hearing their mom talk about her body. They’ve only heard me talk about getting stronger.
Being more capable.
Running faster.
Lifting heavier.
Eating to fuel my muscles.
Eating to fuel my health.
✨I changed the narrative of generations of women before me who were always chasing skinny. My daughters don’t even know that’s a thing.
And beyond that… muscle gave me my health.
It gave me my energy. My desire to do life and actually enjoy it.
It helped thwart off my genetic risk for cardiovascular disease.
It’s given me so much metabolic flexibility.

It kept me mentally and emotionally steady when life got hard.

It healed my dark past with food when eating was always about restriction, trying to earn a body I thought I could love… but never did.
Now I look in the mirror and I see strong.
🏋️‍♀️Ladies, if none of this speaks to you yet, hear me out:
💪🏻You need muscle to age well.
💪🏻You need it to function as a mom to little kids.
💪🏻You’ll need it to stay pain-free as you get older.
💪🏻You need it to stay metabolically healthy and dodge the chronic conditions popping up everywhere.
💪🏻You need it so you and your grandchildren get to enjoy time together, not watch your body fall apart.
And if for nothing else…
Do it for your daughters, mama. For a new generation of strong 💛
This was my year to heal. From the year we had bef This was my year to heal. From the year we had before as a people, in my country, but also on a personal level. Haven’t talked about this much because mundane issues never felt right to come talk about while the world, our world was up in flames. But my postpartum months after Shylee who is just over 2 now was the most challenging time I can remember in my life. (Hence the longest I’ve gone without announcing a new pregnancy 😂) I made a vow to myself that this year I’d heal. My physical body, emotionally, spiritually. And grow. As a mom, a wife and professionally.
I feel so unbelievably grateful for my people, my life, and all my passions. Truly feel healed and like I grew a new version of me.
Ready to take on 2026 💪🏻
Generally speaking blood markers need to be consid Generally speaking blood markers need to be considered within context. This is one example of a piece of the puzzle that needs more pieces added. And in general, if you have any symptom or condition, the professional you turn to should be willing to look at the holistic picture. Is there something more worth uncovering to solve the issue? Don’t settle for less.

It’s been hard for me to think about showing up he It’s been hard for me to think about showing up here recently. Every post I see sounds like Mr chat and authenticity feels hard to come by. And im def a sucker for a good chat gpt fine tune. But it’s hard to sort through the noise in this space these days. I just want to show up as me, like the old days of posting without all the pressure of feeling polished and perfect. No catch. No CTA. And while I know that is part of the grind out here, it’s nice to just come share a small authentic part of me with all of you. That’s what I wanted to do today on my birthday. Hope you guys can take some inspiration from my beautiful, uplifting and meaningful day. Here’s to 34 🥂
